Personnel & Safety

PERSONNEL

Any company is only as good as its employees and our 77 year old firm owes its decades of success to the hard working men and women that fill the ranks of our team. It is through their dedication, adherence to safety and efficiency that allows us to continue to serve our customers with the high level of service that they are accustomed to.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING AND SAFETY

Safety is our number one priority and we live it and think about it everyday. We are proud to report that our current Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is .68 and we want to thank our employees for this achievement.

Our personnel are background checked by e-RAILSAFESM as well as subject to pre-employment and post-employment drug screening. The majority of our employees also have Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC®) as required by some of our industrial customers.

Our employees are trained in safe equipment and driving operation as well as On Track Safety and other rules as prescribed by our Class I Railroad customers. Our personnel also attend at least weekly safety meetings where they receive additional training on a myriad of subjects. Employees also participate in weekly “job critiques” where they examine each job performed in the previous week and determine how or if the job could have been done more safely or more efficiently.

What Others Are Saying

“We have had the privilege of working with Pat Baker Company for over ten years. They represent the very best in any industry. The very nature of their business puts their workers at a high risk on every job. Their rate of accidents is below every industry standard. The care they have for their employees’ safety is the reason Pat Baker Company is one of the best firms I have the honor of working with.”

Jeff Norwood, The Nitsche Group

Texas Mutual 2022 platinum safety partner award recipient

“Your company is one of just 200 businesses receiving this award out of our 74,000 policyholders across Texas. We selected your company because you provide the resources necessary to protect your employees from workplace hazards, which is reflected by your outstanding safety record. Simply put, it is clear that safety is a core value in your organization.”
